I currently reside in Arkansas where I teach Instrumental and Vocal music for my day job . I am a freelance composer/arranger on the side. My music composition style tends to be very programmatic and fits into the genre of instrumental film score./programmatic works for instrumental ensemble.
In high school, I was introduced to John William’s and James Horner’s music mainly because of their melodic content, harmonic interest and colorful orchestrations through watching films and listening to the soundtracks. I was later introduced to Stravinsky, Ravel, Debussy, Howard, Silvestri, Vaughn Williams and Holst. All of these composers have had a profound effect on my music. However, It was John William's and Holst's music that influenced me the most on my path towards being a composer. If someone was to summarize my musical style is that I try to combine elements from all these composers. I would like to try to convey in my music a story/feeling/idea through melody, harmony and orchestration and hopefully causes the listener to reflect, inspire and touches their emotions in some way.
I am mostly a self-taught composer because I found that at the Universities that I chose to go to (mostly because I came from a poor family and didn't have a whole lot of extra money) didn't have really strong music composition faculties or were almost non-existent. Most of my music thus far has been geared toward student/community groups but hopes to expand to other genres, including film.
I started this self-publishing website because I felt that a lot of my music is getting passed over by publishing companies because it doesn't fit into a certain criteria to be published in a catalog.
Please don't hesitate to contact me to say hello, discuss any project of a film that might need music or commission a composition for an individual or group(large or small). And don't forget to sign up for my mailing list for a free gift and other access to other content on the site.
